Looking for opinions...I'm thinking about making my rosette out of tortoise shell (plastic), either trying to bend a binding strip laid flat, or cutting it out of a pick guard or other sheet stock.

I haven't seen a tortoise shell rosette before and can't find any pictures on the net, but it seems to me like it would look nice. I'm planning on binding in tortoise shell as well.

Any thoughts on how it might look, and what material or techniques might work well?

Thanks,

Jay

I don't think you'll be able to bend the plastic strip flat. On the side, no
problem, it might also look nice, depending on the material. If you want
thicker I would cut it out of a sheet with a router or fly cutter.
